Watts, George (ed): 1982 (3rd impression): Titchfield, a History: Titchfield
Historical Society Twin arch brick bridge built early 19th century, replacing 18th century bridge built when the canal became disused; takes its name from nearby Hammonds Coppice and Hammonds Meadow. It is not associated with Col Hammond; an unlikely story goes that he arrested Charles I, hiding under the bridge, 1647. |
